Experienced HR Administrator — French Speaking
Fulltime, 38 hours per week
You probably know us — Action. That great store where you can pick up affordable craft supplies for the kids, stock up just before the new school year, or finally find the right tools for that long-delayed home project. But did you know that behind our stores we have a large HR department supporting more than 80,000 employees across Europe? There is a lot of important administrative work involved — and we are looking for experienced, French-speaking HR Administrators to help us do it well. Curious? We are curious about you!
This is your daily action
As an HR Administrator, you will be part of one of our four international country teams, each responsible for the HR administration of a specific group of countries. Together, these teams cover all the countries where Action is active: the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Croatia, Czechia, Italy, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Portugal.
The HR administration department is the backbone of Action's employee management across Europe. Your team is responsible for overseeing all administrative aspects of the employee lifecycle — from hiring and onboarding to timekeeping and contract changes. This includes drafting employment contracts, verifying new hire information and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new colleagues. You will also ensure that all hours worked are accurately recorded, that salaries are correctly calculated and paid, and that absenteeism is properly registered in line with local labour laws. In addition, you will manage changes during an employee's tenure — such as role transitions or address updates — and handle all related documentation, including employer statements and work permits.
Meet your team
HR Services is part of the broader HR Shared Service Centre at Action. Our team ensures the correct and efficient processing of HR transactions for employees across all Action countries on a daily basis. We work in a dynamic, international environment where collaboration, accuracy and a can-do mentality are central. Would you like to contribute to the further professionalisation of our HR organisation? Take Action!
Curious about your new team members? Alberto, Clara and Georgia can't wait to work with you!
This is you
Helping your colleagues gives you energy, and accurately performing HR administration is a challenge that appeals to you. Action has a truly international character, which means you will be part of a diverse, multilingual team. You are precise, well organised and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You communicate clearly and take ownership of your work.
In addition:
- A completed HBO education, preferably in the direction of HR or Administration
- At least 2 years of administrative or HR experience
- Excellent command of French and English, both written and spoken
- Good command of Dutch is an advantage
Knowledge of another European language is a plus — if you also speak the language of one of the other countries where we operate, that is a big advantage!
What we offer
Surprisingly much! From our international headquarters in the Netherlands you have an impact on what happens in our stores across Europe. We welcome more than 15 million customers every week in more than 3,000 stores in 15 European countries. We have great growth ambitions. For Action and for you. Because our growth means that you can always take new steps. A different position, an interesting innovation project, new skills: you can continue to develop as a professional. And all this in a culture where our shared values are truly lived: customer focus, teamwork, simplicity, discipline, cost conscious and respect.
Did you know that you can also count on us for:
- A market-based salary based on a 38-hour work week
- 24 days of holiday and the option to buy 5 extra days (based on 38 hours per week)
- A temporary contract with the intention of offering you a permanent contract in the long term
- 15% staff discount on your purchases at Action
- A good pension scheme, collective health insurance, travel expenses allowance and work from home allowance
How we contribute to society
If you only know Action from the stores, a world will open up for you when you come and work with us. We work hard to make a positive impact on society and the environment. Did you know, for example, that we sponsor more than 2,500 children worldwide who grow up in an SOS Children's Village? That our team reflects the diversity of our customers, including 155 different nationalities? That we purchase 94% of our wood products and 100% of our cotton sustainably? And that almost all our stores only use energy-efficient LED lighting? Yes, that is also Action. Curious about what other initiatives we're facilitating? Join our team and find out for yourself.
